The songwriting contest has helped launch a number of indie artists while helping them connect to musical resources including labels, publishers, and radio. Clear Channel Radio will be working with Song of the Year once again in 2008 to help their station’s holiday music inventory. The song writing contest has worked closely with Clear Channel by providing the program directors a wide variety of Christmas music. Clear Channel expects to receive around 200 new songs to add to their playlist in 2008 from upcoming songwriters through the songwriting competition.
